If my mouse has a max 20k dpi, should I put it on 20k and in the app 16k, or do I set my mouse to 16k?

What mouse do you have? Not many mice have a true 20K resolution sensor, so if it uses doubling I would recommend setting it to the maximum native resolution.

The Deathadder V2 does not have native resolution steps so you can set it at 16K and not worry about it.
